Story
This Medford attic began as underused space with untapped potential. The homeowners wanted more than extra square footage, they wanted a bright, comfortable retreat that felt like it had always belonged to the home.
We transformed the unfinished attic into a warm and functional upper-level living space, complete with skylights that bring natural light into the room throughout the day. The sloped ceilings, wood flooring, cozy office area, and reading nook give the space a quiet, inviting character while making every corner feel useful.
One of the most important parts of the project was creating a smooth connection between the original home and the new attic space. To do that, we designed and built a custom winding staircase with stained wood treads, white balusters, and traditional detailing. The staircase adds charm and craftsmanship while making the finished attic feel fully integrated with the rest of the house.
What was once an unfinished attic is now a bright, flexible extension of the home, a place to work, read, relax, and enjoy the added living space for years to come.
